Mindfulness Meditation is an ancient discipline that is now a
western, non-sectarian, researched form of meditation. Mindfulness
is designed to develop a practice of acceptance, patience, and
compassion of whatever arises in the present moment, either inside
or outside of us. Finding the capability to release the patterns
of thought that keep us out of balance. The University of
California Center for Mindfulness, part of the medical school's
psychiatry department, defines Mindfulness Meditation, in this way:
Mindfulness is releasing judgment, fullness of heart, gentle, and being open to whatever arises in awareness. By intentionally practicing mindfulness, deliberately paying more careful moment-to-moment attention, individuals' can live more fully and less on automatic pilot. Not habitually thinking about the past or future, but to feel what it's like to be...here...present...now. Mindfulness is a quality, which human beings already have, most of us have not been advised that we have it, that it is valuable, or that it can be cultivated.
